Fight Quest on the Discovery Channel
It looks like we have a new martial arts show on the discovery channel called “Fight Quest”, so set your DVRs. I haven’t had a chance to see it yet but it seems a lot like The History Channel’s “Human Weapon”, but who cares? If you train in martial arts you can’t get enough of these shows. It also looks like they’re going to cover Krav Maga which is always good. (more…)
Fight Science Special Ops
Like I wrote in a previous post the National Geographic Channel is bringing back their show “Fight Science”, which is great for us fight / martial arts fans, because the last shows were stand outs. They just posted the preview video on their website NationalGeographic.com. This episode is called “Fight Science Special Ops” and this time they put Navy Seals, Green Berets and Israeli Commandos to the test. (more…)
Bill Duff Knocked Out by Taekwondo Spinning Heel Kick
Here’s a video clip of Bill Duff, host of the History Channel’s TV show Human Weapon getting knocked out. It looks like someone else beside the cameramen from Human Weapon was shooting this match.
He’s fighting a Champion Taekwondo fighter when he gets caught with a spinning heel kick to the head. The funny thing about a Taekwondo match is that it’s really the furthest thing from a real fight; it’s really about who ever can kick the other one in the head first. (more…)
Fight Science 2 National Geographic Channel
It looks like the National Geographic channel is bringing back their show “Fight Science” for a “Fight Science 2″. If you saw the first one you know how great it is. It basically explains the science behind different martial arts moves. (more…)
Learning Muay Thai Low Roundhouse Kick Instructional
This is a video clip from a Duke Roufus Muay Thai instructional dvd. I would have to say his dvds are some of the best. Duke is a world champion kickboxer and a trainer of champions. Plus he trained “Shreech” from “Saved by the Bell”, and if he can help that dude he’s a master trainer. Duke was also a color commentator for K-1 in America. (more…)
Sherdog Interview with John Hackleman
I know this is an old clip, but if you haven’t seen it it’s new to you, plus it has some good insight into fighting which you should know. It’s an interview with John Hackleman who is Chuck Liddell’s trainer or striking coach, what ever you want to call it. He talks about Chuck getting knocked out by Quentin “Rampage” Jackson. (more…)
How to Fight a Boxer
This is a very interesting video clip of a kick boxer fighting a boxer. This is a K-1 match up from 2004. The fighters are a kick boxer named Alexey “The Red Scorpion” Ignashov and a boxer named Arthur Williams. Ignashov just slaughters Williams with low roundhouse kicks to the knee and thigh, which Ignashov is know for. (more…)
Rob Kaman Low Roundhouse Instructional
Here’s an instructional video clip of Rob Kaman training his famous low roundhouse kick. He has his training partner place a kicking shield on his thigh and move around to train timing and distance. (more…)
If Bas Rutten had to Fight Kimbo in the Street
Here’s a fun interview clip with MMA pioneer, ex bouncer, street fighter and Krav Maga supporter Bas Rutten.
He talks about what he would do if he had to fight mountain of a man Kimbo Slice in the street. Bas’s answer “I’d distract him, then maybe kick to the groin, then dangada, dangada, dangada…’. How very Krav of you Bas.
Chuck Liddell Teaching Hook Punch
This is a fun video clip of Chuck Liddell teaching a fight clinic. He shows where his punching power comes from.
I don’t know about dropping your hand before you punch, but it seems to work for him… most of the time.
Chuck’s style is Chuck’s style, probably not a good idea to try and copy it.
