Things I Like About Krav Maga
I like that there’s no wasted time in Krav Maga. You’re taught something you can use from the very first class. You don’t have to spend forever doing some useless crap because that’s the way it’s been done for hundreds of years.
There are no forms or katas in Krav Maga. Maybe they help you be a better fighter, but I seriously doubt it. When I was a kid I studied Tang So Do and did Hyungs (forms) everyday. I should have been punching a heavy bag instead of punching in the air. Muay Thai doesn’t have forms and they do pretty well in the fighting area.
I like that when you sign up you are given a booklet with a curriculum in it, so you know exactly what you will learn or I should say the minimum you will learn.
I like that Krav Maga is well rounded and includes, stand up fighting, ground fighting, self defense and weapons defense.
As you can tell I’m a huge fan of Krav Maga, otherwise I wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of making a blog about it.
Post some comments and let me know what you love about Krav Maga.
